  I DIDN'T realize they all four were on the team together that year! It's easy for me to understand why they were the world champions. They were so great individually and together they were unbeatable. That was one strong team! USA.!.USA..!USA.USA!!

Bills goldfish must not have died that day, he's smiling lol   Every pic my dad has of him hes never smiling, my dad said every time Bill was asked why dont you smile for the picture, he would reply my goldfish died lmao

Hi Doug:

I wasn't on the F2B team that year; I was the Assistant Team Manager. We did have four fliers in the contest, however. Les was there as the defending Champ; the "Team" was Bill Werwage, Bob Baron and Bob Gieseke.

Bob Gieseke was there as a spectator (or judge?).  The team was Bob Baron, Bill Werwage and Jim Casale with Les defending and Bob Hunt as assistant team manager.  I never had the chance to be on US team with Bob Gieseke.  My loss on that one.

Yeah, Larry, that was certainly an interesting fashion period for CL Stunt. Thank (blame...) Bob Gialdini for that. He started the "Golf Pro" look in the early 1960s, and then almost everyone jumped on that bandwagon. Perhaps we should consider giving bonus points in Nostalgia/Super Seventies Stunt events for fliers who wear white pants, and shirts that match the color scheme of their planes... Nah

Not so fast! I've already begun searching retro pants and outfits. Since most of us fly classic or OTS on Saturdays at contests, I am already trying to get some of us locals (and anyone I haven't spoken to yet) to get an outfit of the period for Saturday. Then we need to get a group photo of whoever is in costume. Not just the white pants, but don't forget those Fancher style red white and blue, or the Arlie Preszler  wallpaper pants, or...

Maybe at Roseburg, all you Saturday fliers, bring your Classic garb to match your classic plane.
