Hi All
I have been secretly sent advance photos of the purported "Lost" Toad and all I can say is WOW. Twere I a cop, I cite him for excessive sleekness and beauty of construction. Since I am unwilling to disclose my source of information at this time, I must inform my fellow Stunt Hangar Members that they must wait on Mr. Powell to unveil this engineering feat [how am I doing Mr. Powell?]
I call on all fellow Smoters to summon him [Randy Powell, not me 8)] to answer this plea for a full set of photos. C'mon guys a little help here please :P

Man, some people have no patience. Easy, my son. All things come to those who wait.
Besides, it's sitting in tape awaiting the next color. Just need to mask, but had to go back and repaint part of the cowl again (previous color.
But, here's a little something to hold you over.
The pic really doesn't do the white justice. It is the slickest pearl white I've ever seen. Think Cadillac Escalade.

Ty,
I need a little help here, I clocked that puppy at around 180 clicks! and that was while it was still mounted to the bench ::) Were I the proud owner I would be thinking fire resistant lines.

Wow!
Hey Randy, can you stop by the house and paint my current project for me?
-
Right now it's convered in about 6 kinds of vinyl and plastic tape and it's only partially masked for the next color. Have two more colors to go, then some lettering, inklines, details and about 30 coats of clear.
I'm just plugging along. If it's done for the Regionals, it's done. If not, oh well. At least I have 2 other funcitoning planes.

That is looking awesome so far. DOC Holliday

Hi Randy,
Looking Sweet! Great progression from the stock USA-1! x:
-
Bill,
Yea, the lineage is clear. Wish the weight was a bit less, but then, I always wish that. But at about 60oz with 40 more square inches of wing and bigger flaps, shouldn't be a problem.
Hope the OS46VF works out,

From SSW
Picture of the new toad in process. 4 colors on with the base color (Alabaster Pearl White) and 2 to go. Right now it's covered with various vinyl and plastic tapes and partially masked. Hope to shoot color 5 tomorrow night. Projected all up weight is ~60oz. Some sort of pipe engine for power. And a lot of work yet to go.

VF46's always work out.
Chris...
-
Chris,
I have high hopes. I've never run one, so we'll see. On the other hand, if it's tail heavy, I can always go to the PA or RO-Jett 65. ;D
-
Randy,
I suggest you insure this one heavily for theft >:D
Photos never do the subject full justice but again, WOW!
I will now carefully draw my mighty Smoter [step back Bill Little ;D] and
taking dead aim, errrrrrr ahhhhh success!.
Go forth mighty builder and build greater projects now that your Karma has been
Smited by one from the inner circle 8)

I knew there was a reason I posted pics of in process planes. Looking at the picture I posted I 1) found a huge mistake I hadn't seen previously and 2) had a great idea for the rest of the paint. Could be cool.
Whoo-Hoo!
But sorry Marv, no wheel pants.
-
Very Nice Randy. I will smite Marv for you.

Look out Marv, I *almost* put the "MIGHTY SMOTE" on you! n1 %^ j1 ;D

Hi Art,
Glad to see you are with us. Please be advised that great care
must be taken when wielding the Mighty Smoter :P the applause thingy
wiggles in the presence of the energy emanating from a glowing Smoter.
Enjoy

Bill,
Ya gotta hold yer Smoter with two hands when it's glowing otherwise great
harm could ensue :-X Now in Randy's case, I could see you were getting awfully
close just as I was getting ready to engage my Mighty Smite loaded Smoter and called out a warning, I mean after all what are friends for? Check your Karma, that one drained all the power outta my now limp Smiter
;D

OK Marv, here you go. Critique away. Wish I'd bent the red back near the root of the wing and rudder on the wing and stab respectively. Would have given it a bit more of an organic feel. Maybe I will.
Still have one color to go. Pearl Black. Just some accent. If I can get the #$%^&* tape to stick and stay where I put it. Grrrr. That has been the biggest headache with this finish. Once that's done, it will be on to about 2 weeks of inking. Then I can finally clear the thing, throw it in the rack and worry about something else.
I think I've go with a standard Cavaleir paint scheme on the next plane.

Randy,
Sure missed you at the spring tune-up, what with me in my sportiest pants ;D However Scott Riese agreed with the missing part but said in a way it was a good thing because the way the wind was behaving, tragedy of the worst king could have happened to the bold pilots of which he claims you are a life member <snicker>
I will confer with my fellow members of the Smoters Guild, however I am certain that to properly "Critique" this glorious trophy, we will need to have it shipped to ummm, Bill; which address do we want to use?? I'm sure we could finish our inspection in record time %^ <grin> Oh, we won't need those mini-skirts for our BOM review though <howl> but if you were of a mind, please submit the custom [gorgeous] pants for scoring.

Marv,
I'm about a third done with inking. Man, I wish I was better at it, but the only way you get better is to do it. It should be a good 10 foot finish. Should be ready for topcoats by the weekend. I hope.
At least the engine is behaving on the test stand now.
