Title: Forum member
Post by: john e. holliday on February 25, 2016, 05:01:26 PM
Just had a nice day today visiting with forum member Robert Dible.   Seems he called while I was out side doing some fence work yesterday and I didn't recognize the number and didn't answer.   When I got on the forum there was a message waiting for me from him.   So I called him and we visited in the shop.   Showed off some of my planes and gave him a demo of how I do my leadouts.  Anyway he is from western Kansas and hardly any CL flyers.  I hope I didn't bore him too much and the demented poodle took a liking to him.  May be a while before I see him again as Colby is a long ways out there.

Cool! That's a good example of why folks should post their city/state. You never know when it might get you a flying buddy!

They say experience is a cruel teacher, it gives the exam first then the lesson.

So I was fortunate today to meet with "Doc", and find out how to implement control systems in a much more secure manner than what I did 45 years ago.  At this point I am sure that there is a lot more to learn, and hope that I start asking the right questions.  Anyway, the time went far too quickly.  Thanks John for your time and showing me some important techniques.

I have put St Louis, MO as my location because you never know when someone who has a question or needs help spots a forum member that lives in their area and contacts them. We all need to be receptive to answer questions like you did which was great.

We all should make sure we put the city and state we live in on our Stunthanger profile...

Well, I now have a witness of what a slob I am in the shop.  But every thing is almost with in reach though.

Usually people think that June 21 +/- 1 as the longest day of summer.....but I think a longer day would be the day you took all of John's models out of the hanger to put just one flight on each plane.  Just the paper towel budget would be staggering!

There is a cure for having a towel budget but I don't want to start a war but you know what it is.

He didn't see the old rags I have for cleaning planes.  You know T-shirts full of holes.
