Title: For those who have not followed along
Post by: RC Storick on August 08, 2014, 06:23:24 PM
About 40 days ago I started this and I have been posting video's in building and finishing section. Here are two pics of my progress as of today. Still needs a few more touches of paint,Gold leaf and ink. Then clear. I was going to try to take it to Allens contest but I will not make it. I am about a week out yet.

Beautiful as always, Sparky.  Gotta ask;  have you considered your personal impact on the world's balsa wood supply?  Do you have any idea at all how many stunt ships you've built over your lifetime?  Just amazing.

Looks great Sparky.

Amazing, considering the number of days spent. And just think, you didn't hurry on this one.

Ted

Sitting here trying to get a honest estmate I would have to guess at least 6 in the last 12 months. But to be honest over 200 maybe close to 300. Not sure I have lost count long ago. When I was younger I could do it faster.

Fastest build on this site I have done is my 11 day Ares from scratch to the air and wont the spirit of 62 award with it. It's still here somewhere.  Thread can be seen here http://stunthanger.com/smf/index.php/topic,1967.0.html So I can build them. Just need some flying weather. LOL

Here is a pic of the fastest build I have done in the last 20 years. Built in 5 days.

I crashed 1 week before SIG and needed a plane, it was a foam wing covered in monokote and a VF.46 on a pipe 1994 plane

Looks great Sparky!!! My one suggestion would be to put something on the rudder. I don't know if you have a decal planned to go on there or not, but that's just my opinion.

Great work, Sparky!  That's one that I would take in a New York minute!  I agree with the others, something is needed on the rudder.  I'm sure you have something planned for back there.

What do you expect the finished weight to be?

Bill

2 More shots of what I am doing. Reminds me of a fire engine.

Now...you ain't right Sparky...last movie I got was #35....I've been checking daily to find the next one, and boom...you drop the finished product on me. I feel like I do when I miss a NASCAR race and somebody tells me who won! :-\

As you know I've always been amazed at the speed in which you can build your planes . So now you have me wondering, If I fly out the Thursday afternoon before the Broken Arrow contest, Can we have a Nats caliber stunt plane built and ready to fly by Saturday morning?

So, I'm reading along and looking at the pictures thinking that this was another electric.  And then I noticed the muffler in that last picture.  So is this I.C.?  Or is that a fake plastic muffler?  You could mess everybody up if you did that!

While at Brodaks I was given 4 engines with the stipulation I would build some airplanes. This is one of them with a Super Tiger .60
