Title: For those that Pray, please
Post by: Randy Ryan on June 20, 2013, 10:36:08 AM
To Brothers in Christ here,

My Dad Art Ryan, who turned 92 in January has severely declined in health over the last couple of weeks in now under round the clock home observation with my sister Irene. Dad and I have been flying buddies all my life. I ask not for his survival though it would be good, but at 92 I know anything can happen. Please all, pray for God’s will for my Dad, comfort, healing, peaceful passing, whatever. I prepared myself for the loss of my Mom and older brother, but no amount of preparation has readied me for this, Dad and I have been so close all my life, I already feel the hole in my heart. Pray also for my sister who is at his side now.

Thanks you all.

Randy; please accept my sincere wishes for the best possible. Losing one's parent is never easy, and it sounds like you and your dad had a very special relationship.

God Bless.

Randy,

What's your father's father name? Hebrew prayer for the ill requires one.

Praying for your dad, your sister, and you. It is hard losing your father, you can take comfort that when he goes he will be in a better place.

What can I add other than we can never spend enough time with our Dads or Mothers too.   I was 20 when my best supporter of my hobby left this world.  He is still missed even after all these years.  You and your family are on my list.

Art is not only your Father, but it sounds like he is a your best friend and mentor as well.

At times like this it is best to not dwell on the fact that the hole in your heart may never be filled, but on the great gift that you and your father are to one another.  That kind of love lives forever.

God bless you and yours.

Thanks you all for the wonderful prayers and thoughts. Dad is doing a bit better today but the rapid decline is not a good sign no matter what. He is my best buddy and we traveled all over the country to fly, he taught me sandpaper is good and warps are bad, and how to get along in a tough place called the world.

You are truly blessed to have this relationship with you father.  I envy that very much, it makes me want to work harder with my relationship with my boys.  I'm taking my boys to a contest this weekend and I believe I'll be thinking of you and your father.  I'll share this with them on the trip.  My heart has hurt for you today, but your story has inspired me.

Romans 8-28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [HIS] purpose.

Maybe how you have inspired me today is one of those "good things".  Is your father a believer?

Can't do much better than that, my friend.  That is a beautiful thing brother.  You are truly blessed.

Randy, please know, both you and Art are in our prayers.  My dad, "POP" was my flying buddy also.  We not only flew together, we built cars, did some SCCA racing, built cars, and
even did some skating.  He was very early NHRA and NASCAR.  I still miss those times.

I seem to remember, meeting your Dad a few times but not sure where it was.  Could it have been at the Michigan State Champs at the Ford Utica Test Track?

Times change; memories remain the same.

God Bless,

Regards,  Joe Peters

Randy, Gusti and I are keeping you and your dad in our best thoughts and prayers. When my dad passed and Mom followed shortly, it was tough, but I still keep them in my life. With your great relationship, you'll have few regrets and many fond memories. We're all with you!

Thank you all again, Dad is feeling better for the time being, could stay around for 10 more years of leave at a moments notice. He is feeling better but I'm afraid he's all through travelling to contests etc. He's such a great guy.
