Propellers for general stunt and recreational flying

Ok so I over the years have collected a range of brand, types and sizes of propellers. The question I have is that most of the props are master airscrews gf series or APC's  for recreational flying is there anything wrong with these props?  The engines are LA 25s or LA 46s and the planes range 300 to 500 square inch wingspans.  Thanks in advance for your inputs

APC 10-4 or 9-4 for the 25LA (9-4 if you need more power).

APC 11-4, 11.5-4, 12.25-3.75 for the 46LA (experiment, you need to find the best combination for your plane). 

If you can find it, the Thunder Tiger 11-4.5 prop seems to be very nice for the 46LA, but TT has changed distributors; there's a new mail-order source but it's not clear if they're selling newly-imported props.

The wood series Master Airscrew seem to work better than their glass/plastic ones for stunt.
I have one on my Sig Banshee.
My buddies say that the glass MA props are rated over their actual/measured pitch, so if you try them, you might go up one on pitch from what you want.

APC, Thunder Tiger "Cyclone" and Graupner props work real well if they have the right size for your combo.

The 9.5 x 4.5 APC is not available in most LHS, but try it on the .25LA. The 11.5 x 4 is a great baseline prop for the .46LA. Others toot their horns about the 12.25 x 3.75. It works better on a ST G.51, IMO.  Steve

Sure they will work. It really boils down to what works for your type flying instead of brand.  I'm just a sport flyer (.25 - .60 sizes) but have a pretty good stash of different props/brands to dial my planes in. Of the common brands, Mas gf & wood or topflight powerprop or old superM ends up on the nose more often than others. My apc props are dust collectors for the most part but the 11.5 x 4 worked ok on my .40 McCoy on a tbird.

On the planes I've tried the 12.25x3.75 with a 46LA I wasn't thrilled -- however, Tom Brightbill uses one that's cut down by 1/2" or so on his Humongous, and reports good results.

I use the 9 4 apc on 25 engines , la,fp, Brodak.   The 12.25 x 3.75 cut down is great, but have found the 12 4 apc to be a little better , at least at sealevel to 1800 ft  on la 46. Stock ,

I too have collected a lot of props,just hard to use them when you have beter new props available for $4 each, order them by the dozen and you will have plenty extras

Dave,
For general fly the MAS are OK the APC can take you to competition. They are a bit heavy and if you need the nose weight you can trim with them. If you have a light ship one of the best wood props are the RSM's from Eric Rule.
