Foam wing -- another dumb question
« on: August 15, 2007, 06:31:39 AM »
OK so my foam wing project is going at a blistering snails pace.

I am at the point at installing the bellcrank but I am not sure what wing is the inboard wing. The wings I got were marked Right Top and Left Top. (Crist makes some nice foam wings)
Is that looking from the front of the wing or the back of the wing? Is there a standard that right wing is the inboard wing?

Left Top: Inboard.   It is as if you are sitting in the pilot's seat looking forward.

The cores will be cut to length if there is asymmetry so the longest goes inboard.

The inboard wing also has the spar "notched" for the leadouts.  Usually marked "L".

hmmm - seems pretty simple - like Bill said - if both tops are showing when you glue them together - you are good to go - unless you glue one root to one tip - then you should probably have a beer and leave it. ;D

Yup Bill I figured you had it right too. Just wanted to let Crist know I really like the wing.

And yea Wynn I maybe had a brain fart and could not figure out what wing was what, but I do not want to get this wrong. And one beer would surely mess me up. 010!

Like someone told me, it is better to ask dumb questions then try and come back and fix a dumb problem. LL~ :! n~

Now I am confused!!  Paul, give me a call.  My Challenger-40 has a foam wing mounted in a profile fuse.
