Flying today
« on: May 26, 2013, 07:15:18 PM »
It was a beautiful day for flying. i met A fellow club member at the field today and got quite a few flights in  today. the new plane flies awesome and finally got my Twister with the O.S. Max FP 40 to run right and give me the 5.5 second lap I've been working hard for. Thanks to Allen Brickhaus for showing me how to build the tank correctly. That made a huge difference. The engine went into the 2-4-2 break perfectly after a little tweeking. Really starting to enjoy flying now the twister is running right and that the new plane That Mike built while teaching me how to build is an absolute awesome flying plane. That new plane will be my main flyer.  Am starting to really learn the maneuvers. Mike helped me out allot today. Cant wait to get the full beginners pattern down.

The combination of OS Max FP .40 box stock on my DoodleBug got me a second in Topeka's TOPClass annual.   Pictures of it on Dave Trible's and Dee Hill/Elwyn Aud posts.

Hi Andrew,
Try to attend the Nats if you can.As someone who as just went through the journey you are about to take I HIGHLY recommend it.2010 I finished 5th.2011 I was beginner National Champion. Now I am close to the top of the Intermediate level.Mr. Brickhaus' words of encouragement sure helped me along the way.Even tho you get kicked out of the beginner circles when you win there will always be a place in my heart for that program. It is truly an experience that will stick with you forever,I know it will for me.
