Title: Flying Strega with Enya .61
Post by: Shug Emery on May 14, 2017, 09:07:04 PM
Strega and the Enya .61 are breaking in and I am starting to feel fairly comfortable with the big ol' plane.
Just a pattern. Nothing earth-shaking.
I shoot video of this to see what I am doing better and what needs work.
There is always room to improve. That is the beauty of this sport.
I watch and see where what is and where what is not.

Yeah Jared. I do like those big planes now. Trying to remember to just let the handle do the work!
Using just 4 1/4 ounces of fuel to get through the pattern. So engine is getting broken in at last. Thanks.

Very good. What prop are you using? Is the engine the ABC, or the ring version?
Thanks.  Luiz

It is the ring version. I am using a 12x6 prop the most.

Shug:

I know some people like Zingers, but you may find other props perform better.  My experience was better with the Zinger Pro and the Xoar.

I have a Zoar to try later but I am liking the Zinger right now. Had an apc.

Damn Shug! You have gotten pretty damn good, I've been watching your videos for some time now and this one shows what practice does. Your motor was running great. My only contradiction is...You are flying with the wrong hand.  ;D

Appreciate it Norm.
Engine is breaking in well. The Strega is solid on the lines and goes where you point it.
Never enough practice!

Not much fuel for a 61 in a 75oz bird ?   My 68oz SV-11/Enya61 on pipe uses 6oz.

As the engine has been breaking it is using less fuel for sure.

I've got the ABC RE version of the 61CX in a 63 oz model, and it uses only 4 1/4 oz, much like Shug's. (5/11/11 fuel, 12.5x4.5 3B Eather prop). Great engine - I couldn't be happier with it.

They feel heavy but it still seems to fly well. The Enya has developed good power.

Good to hear. As they break in mine used less and less fuel for a pattern run.
