While at the Toledo RC Show today I was pleasantly surprised to see
that Flying Models magazine had a booth. I spent several minutes
talikng with the guys there and they said FM would be back in production
soon. They also said any subscriptions outstanding will be honored.
Great news all around!

Thanks for the great news Steve! I hope they can continue with the same basic format they had before. Also, I hope their plans section comes back with better service.

They did say the format would be the same and that the
plans service is already up and running.

Did you get a name and contact number?

When I went to WRAM show in Feb Flying Model also had a booth and I spoke with Thayer Syme- who represents the new publisher. I offered him my $ for subscription but he said he could not accept payment until all details of ownership transfer were finalized. He siad it would hopefully be sometime this spring but couldn't commit to a date. I posted this previously but maybe some people missed my posting so thought I write another posting.

Thayer Syme had just taken over as editor two issues before they ceased publication. I liked what I read about him and his editorials. He's a younger guy but a "new comer" to the hobby and practices all disciplines in some manor, if I remember correctly. I think he is just what the magazine needed and hope it all works out. I was half way through my last subscripition when they shut down with the May 2014 issue. I think they were showing a June cover on the website, but I never got mine, and I don't think it went to press. It would be neat if they could pick right back up with that issue!
Looking forward to it,

Still no change in the web site. I hope this all becomes real, because I like FM!
-
I'll re-up my subscription as soon as they're ready, just need the info to do so. #^

They were taking subscriptions today. I went ahead and
added another year to my current subscription.

I'd prefer to just call them, is it all the same contact info as before?
-
I hope that they start doing digital copies. I do digital only on my MA, SN and FF Digest subscriptions. That way I can read them on the iPad at work ;D
-
That makes me happy. I have many hobby interests and they covered many different aircraft types. I will have to subscribe again.

Any more news on this?
I was just wondering the same thing.

Steve, what is the current contact info for them?
-
I don't know, I filled out the subscription card at the booth
in Toledo. Some people were looking for more news, I don't
know anything else, after all the Toledo Show ended only
three days ago. How much more can there be?

Didn't know any of that Steve, sorry I asked.

This is the age of the Internet. We want more information now. If there isn't anything to be had, we want someone to make something up!
-
Here it is almost June and have not gotten anything yet. What is the latest or is this to be an on line set up?

As found on facebook:
Flying Models is on the road again!
Recently acquired by Flying Aces Press, LLC. Flying Models magazine will be back in print soon. Toward that end, publisher Thayer Syme is on the way to South Carolina to cover Joe Nall. Check back to see the action and excitement as it happens. And be sure to say hi if you see him on the flight line!!

https://www.facebook.com/flyingmodels (https://www.facebook.com/flyingmodels).
They've updated the website, too, although all it is now is a splash page announcing the takeover:

And there's an email address for Thayer Syme. I think I just put myself on the hook for a construction article.

We keep hearing they are coming back and I truly hope they do but I do not see any progress.

There's a huge amount of stuff that has to happen behind the scenes before something like this comes to fruition. So the lack of visible progress doesn't mean that there isn't any progress.

I hope that is what is going on Tim.

Me, too. Thayer did express an interest in a build article I'm working on (it's in the "glimmer in the eye" stage at the moment; don't hold your breath). So that's hopeful.
