Title: Flying Models Mag
Post by: riley wooten on September 25, 2012, 12:16:58 PM
I let my Flying Models subscription lapse for several months.  When I renewed I was told I would start with the August issue. Only issue received so far was September. Anyone know if October is out?  Two e-mails to Flying Models have not been answered....RW

I wouldn't count on much response from FM magazine.  They still owe me a set of plans, and that's been over 2 years!

The most recent one on the shelf here at the hobby shop is September, but it seems like a new one should be due pretty soon.

I subscribe too and my latest issue is September.  As I recall, it was a bit later in my mail.

I will have to go look at mine.   I get so many mags that I  don't look at dates.   In fact I was looking at one the other night, not FM, and realized it was from last spring.

I know what you mean. They've owed me a few paid for back issues for at least two years.

Flying Models is one of my favorite magazines. Recently I ordered a set of plans for the "Big Job" and a bound volume of all the issues from 1991. I received the order in about a week. Unfortunately the plan, which was shipped rolled in one of those triangular shaped boxes, was literally crushed end to end and partially torn apart in the middle. I contacted Flying Models asking for instructions of what to do. Basically, I thought this was a battle I would have to fight with the Postal Service. They told me to return the box, unopened, to the postal service and refuse to accept delivery. The Post Office would then send it back to Flying Models and I would get a replacement. Here is where Flying Models showed first class customer service. They sent me a replacement the very next day after I notified them of the problem...before I had even taken the crushed box back to the Post Office. I received my new plan two days after notifying them of the problem. I've heard a lot of bad things said about the service at Flying Models and even experienced some of the same things others complained about in the past. It's probably human nature to complain about bad service, but this is a case where they deserve recognition for a job well done!

I have noticed Flying models has disappeared from all the news stands, I used to see them in Fries and Hastings, but no more

That is how I discovered Flying Models.   In the magazne rack of the drugstore on the square in Clinton MO.   Started a subscription when they were sold out one month.
