Title: Flying lines

Okay I know there are many sources for flying lines both made up and in bulk but here is another possibility for those of us who like to keep tabs on were things can be found...  I have used fishing leader before and cannot see the difference between these and at least some lines sold for CL use.

Like you, and probably a large number of others, I use some fishing equipment on airplanes.  Crimps and wire for airplane leadouts in particular.  The deep sea crimps are very heavy walled and will not fail.  I always make sure the wire I get is multi-strand.  As a point of interest, Seven Strand makes a lot of deep sea wire and I see it also used as control lines.

You can also get the multi-strand wire "coated" in a plastic sheath.  I have used that as well.  Thus far I have seen no real difference in the sheathed or unsheathed.

"pre-straightened" kinda implies that it is a single strand.  "won't rust" implies it is stainless steel, which doesn't meet the AMA general rules which specify music wire or metal of equivalent strength. But at $10 for a couple hundred feet it is worth a try.

The stainless steel leader makes good foam-cutting wire.
