Flying during Super Bowl
« on: January 30, 2015, 07:47:52 AM »
I just got this, this morning...It's interesting that on page two..."model aircraft operations" is quite a blanket statement. It gives me visions of someone being dragged off in hand cuffs for flying his "Ring Master" within the TFR zone, (quite a bit of area) during the Super Bowl event. Hope you can open it. S?P  H^^

Had to add to my vision...Remember Barney Fife? There's a bunch of them out there.  ;)

I think we of the Control Line community are OK.  Aren't we classed as a tethered kite?  The mandate did not exclude kites that can be tethered thousands of feet off of the ground!    LL~   LL~   LL~

Not lately, the current training for Police is to unload the entire magazine until the threat is neutralized.
No more double-tap. In Barney's case he only had one bullet...  HB~>

This is what happens when you no longer have a "debate zone" to discuss it on.

No Randy, this is what happens when you can see everything. Remember, you never went to the debate zone. If it were still there you wouldn't have seen this and your blood pressure would be lower.

Hey guys! My sarcasm (Barney Fife) was in no way directed at law enforcement as a whole. By all respects, the character Barney, was a good policeman, not a dishonest, or evil bone in his body. However, he was extremely over zealous and most of all, misinformed about particular laws. This in itself, was what I was eluding to. The blanket statement "model aircraft operations," to the misinformed law enforcement official, would be just that...you are going to have a problem if you fly your Ring Master at the local school yard that happens to fall within the boundaries of the TSA. The NOTAM issued by the FAA should of read "RC model airplane operations or remote control model airplane operations" IMHO.
What would be a hoot, if all of the control liners in that area all go out and...Naw! Better not, I may just be right and a bunch of good folks wind up in front of Judge Judy.  ;D

Actually I do... Worked with several veteran Police Officers over the years (Former Tulsa PD and New Jersey State Police who retired and now work as A&P's), also work with a man who's son is Okla. Highway Patrol - this is their current training. Unload the magazine till the threat is neutralized.
No, I don't consider all Police Officers "Barney's". That was my point, the threat level to Police is escalating everyday and tactics change to deal with it.

What?  I thought they were supposed to shoot the gun out of the bad guys hand!  That's what the Lone Ranger always did!

True story:

Reporter's question for the Sheriff of Bonneville County, Idaho: "Why did you need to purchase an uzi?"
Sheriff: "For crowd control"

Let me tell you, there were never any riots at the Eastern Idaho Fair (held in Bonneville County.)

Act right and you won't get shot. It saves taxpayers money to plant one versus feed and house them for many years with better living conditions than many veterans enjoy...The whole narrative and spotlight focus was based on lies and yet it continues like it deserves some merit. Not from me....
