Anyone else watching the TV show Flying Alaska?
Man those bush pilots are something else.
Some very good air plane stories.
-
Yeah, I have started watching it too,,
wish there was more flying and less drama, but its not as bad as American Chopper so I guess I cant complain to much

Like OCC and IRT, the scripts are "enhanced" to provide excitement in a show that is about what is (hopefully) boring stuff; long hours of driving/flying, trying to keep the peepers open. D>K Steve

I find the show interesting and I love the Alaskan scenery.

I like the planes and the scenery. It it neat to see how those people live in some very small towns. And the bush planes are the only way they get items they need to survive. Gallon of milk is $18.00!
One town has a population of 1!
Another guy lives with his wife in a hut and the closest road is 200 miles away. Talk about living in the sticks.

Yup,
I watch, far west Alaska is a mighty iffy place to fly. At least when I was flying bush in Alaska I could use Merrill, Keni, Palmer, Talkeetna, Homer and a few other airports in South, Southeast Alaska. Guess where the first oil explorers went to explore in 1967? No, it wasn't the north slope - I flew them to another place first........Just guess where?

Paul,
If that preserve is on the Keni Peninsula you have it right, if not then sorry!
