Flying
« on: August 01, 2020, 07:28:51 PM »
Made it out to the circle today to fly.   Need to ad trim tab to the $ Star as it still flies with right wind down upright and up inverted.   Checked the wing with all I had and used the hot air gun to twist the wind to where it was straight with all the stuff I had.  The Ringmaster Jr Trainer needs bigger wheels.  The Feno, for some reason the old reliable Fox decided it did not want to start by hand.  In fact all three engines gave me fits.  Will try another jug/can of fuel next time out.  Oh, by the way the new Spectra lines are working great.  Any way my phone kept saying temps were 70F degrees.   Stopped at Wally World Super Center and the temps were suddenly in high 80's f degrees.   D>K

Hey John, are you flying by yourself or do you have a real human stooge to help out and maybe a few other fliers on hand watching the action? ......
Where is the flying field you are currently using and / or used today?   ......  Just wondering.        D>K        H^^

I fly by my self as I never know when I can get to the circle which is south of Bonner Springs.   Take K-7 south to 43rd Street and turn right(go west).  You will come up on the entrance to the sand plant.  Turn left on that street that leads to Lindsey's Auction site.  Just follow the road unless you want to go swimming.   Go past the auction place until you get past the row of trees.   At the end of the trees is the little drive that takes you to the circle that you should be able to see.  I have several mechanical stooges I use, depending on what planes ZI am going to fly.  Was going out today, but my hearing aid died on me.   Going after one of the Wally World cheapies later.

Now have trim tab on the 4 Star, bigger wheels on the Ringmaster Trainer and patched the hole the APC prop put in the Feno. H^^

I can guess the RM and the 4 Star, but the other one doesn't look like any Feno I'm familiar with.  Where's it from?

Got four flights on the 4 Star when engine quit in bad spot.  It will get restored in time.  Just need to re-attach out board wing and rebuild nose.  It went straight in.  Nice breeze down low, but turbulant up high. D>K
