So? Where are the kids?
« on: February 05, 2012, 01:16:38 PM »
I live in a small city of 130,000 this winter I decided to do some indoor r/c for fun and I am blown away by the turn out, complete families, mom, dad and small kids in tow all with 3 and 4 ready fly planes and choppers there had to be 20 kids 50 adults and over 100 planes and choppers! Now here's the kicker I've never seen the majority of these people at the Field flying outdoors, so the kids are there but it seems they would rather be indoors flying little rtf's then put some effort into a bigger model and fly outside.

There's an entire generation out there that need to be taught model aviation, Control-line and R/C. Just look at the divorce rate (single parent), economy and the impact of video games vs. traditional hobbies (now obsolete)...there's your answer.  :-\

You should check this place out on a Saturday morning.....

Last time I was there it was packed with kids and dads. Now they even have a heli area.

If we could get a manufacturer to come up with a ready to fly CL like they are using in the southern hemisphere within a reasonable price range, I imagine we could get more Dads and Kids flying indoors.   Problem then is getting use of school gyms. H^^

I'm hoping to get some of them out to the field, as I said I did this just to have fun for the winter, it boggles my mind that these kids would not want to fly outside in the sun and fresh air, it will be my mission the rest of the winter to get at one of these kids/families to come out to the field and who knows maybe just maybe one of them might give C/L a try.
I can try
