Fly a control line demo at city event
« on: April 10, 2016, 01:10:05 PM »
The R/C club I belong to has once again asked me to fly a C/L demo flight at a event the City of Mission Viejo California hosting.  This is not the first time I have flown a demo fight for the club.  They seem to genuinely enjoy watching a control line plane fly.  I will once again fly the old time pattern on my venerable electric RSM Ringmaster.  If I get a chance to fly a second flight I may demo the modern pattern just to give them an idea of what it looks like.  You would absolutely be amazed at how little the R/C world knows about control line.  At the past two meetings a couple of other members who fly C/L as well as R/C have brought in their control line planes just to give the members a close up of what one looks like.  Next month I want to take in my Humongous that I flew at VSC last month.  As somebody who is far better in R/C than C/L I have never lost my love for control line, it takes me back to when I was a young boy and brings back good memories.  Anyway thought you might be interested.

Hey Andy,

I meant go get back with you earlier.  I am doing fine and still doing test builds for Eric.  I have lost 115 lbs since my gastric sleeve surgery and am feeling great.  I lost your number and if you will send me a PM I will give you a call no we can catch up.

Andy, last September, Henk de Jong and I flew at a RC show that was linked to a city anniversary.
We got very good comments from those present.

We decided to try and fly the FAI F2B program as synchronously as possible. We managed fine, although the difference between an electric (mine) and a IC powered model was obvious. Electric flies the same speed from the first to the very last second. IC however, speeds up almost unnoticeably.
I was the one that brought things back in sync between the manoeuvres.

In this video you see me putting in the batteries from 0:34 to 0:42 and a snippet of our display from 2:11 to 2:30
I like the perspective where I'm flying the squares.

But I DO play Stunt and I DO fly Bluegrass.

Oh My Goodness!!!  That evil drone was flying OVER live people.  And by children.  How is that nobody was maimed...

I really enjoyed the video.  Looked like a lot of people enjoying a nice day with their hobby.

I like the video, especially the over head shot.
