Allot of people buy their Flight boxes. I built mine like allot of others. When im finished with mine, i'll post pics. If you'd like, post pics of yours here.

My flight box was made in my flying partners high school metalworking class. He is now 62. I would just as soon not post pics of it

My interest would, not so much be the flite box, but what's in it!
Especially if you only flew Electric.
Possibly a new Thread is needed for a listing of "items" that would be in a flite box used "ONLY" for Electric.
AND another list of "items" that would be in a flite box used "ONLY" for IC.

I'm more interested what's ON it. ;D
I subscribe to the box style combat guys use. They try to put all the essential pieces on the outside of the box that might be needed when you go to start the model. This way, there is not reason to rummage through the box for a prop nut wrench or a RPM gage or glow driver. The ONLY things I keep inside are things that are secondary or don't need to be picked up: batteries, fuel containers, lines and handles. This approach also keeps the box size to a minimum which in turn translates to low weight. I only wish I had a way to mount a roll of paper towels.
Hey! I just got an idea! I don't need a roll! I can just use square napkins! I can easily create a small slot for keeping napkins! Off to the basement to modify my frankenbox!

Don't forget the picture. In my years I have seen guys carry much of their stuff in pants and shirt pickets. Talk about a Chinese fire drill during a pit stop.

Here's my Flite Box when I'm flying my electric OTS Jamison. I feel that it would more than offset the fact that I'm using an electric motor to power my OTS.

I tried to get some photos of the pit boxes at the F2D contest this weekend. Pics are still in the camera. Didn't ask anybody if they were commercially made or even if by who. They all looked almost identical, just different finishes. They also had a strap so you could carry them like a ladies hand bag.

In the US those come from various hobby suppliers (I'm pretty sure that Sig and Brodaks carries them), or they come from your local farm store (you need those monsters if you're doctoring horses or cattle).
So you could probably mail order them, but you might want to check your local farm or feed store if you have any close by.

Hi Tim,
I can get up to 60cc Monoject syringes down here (that's the one I'm currently using), but not those 5 oz ones.
I canīt even find them on the internet searching in papa Google!
I'm looking for that brand because it is a first quality product. The numbers are totally fuel proof and the plunger seems to last forever!

I am in the planning stage of making a few of the boxes like mine. It originally started out as a box for slot cars that the old cabinet shop i was working in was making. i converted mine to a flight box. So now that the shop is no longer around, im gonna make more of them if anyone is interested.

I just got one from RSM it came with a hose and a sealed barb to put the hose on when done to keep it clean y1 T.J.

MBS Model Supply has the 5 ounce syringes also. I think he also has the smaller ones for the combat F2D guys/gals.

Finally got pictures downloaded. One is just a pit box for F2D and the other is a pit box with support station box.
