Hi all
This was my first contest, and I enjoyed every minute of it and want to express my thanks that I could attend. I flew in Beginner Stunt and this became the first moment I have competed in any model airplane competition. I can safely say that after my flight, in winds that were at my limit, I came out with my knees shaking, experiencing great hit of adrenaline. It was fantastic, I gave it all I had during my flight and still managed to screw up my overhead eight by not completing the last overhead outside orbit, this gave me a zero on that maneuver. Shortly after that the wind became higher and I elected to forgo the second round. I think that many others dealt with the same decisions in many of the other classes.
The airplane that I chose for practice and my event was an Avia 87 from Model Aviation and a Fox 15 BB motor turning a 8x5 prop at 15,000 rpm. This motor took a while to get set up but once dialed in worked for me just great.
Watching Michael Paris fly was very interesting, is is really heartwarming to see youth deliver a fine performance in these same conditions, I hope that other young people take up this activity and move it into the future like Michael does, he did a super job.
I enjoyed the hospitality of all the other competitors and their helpfulness, and the fantastic job the organizers did in making this an event to remember.
Thanks to all
