Flaps vs Trim Tabs?

I decided not to connect linkage to the Phaeton II C/L conversion-lower wing[flaps].....I'm planning to use them like trim tabs. Are there any precedents for such an idea? What might be the pros and cons? All ideas and input greatly appreciated.

Saw that Ward, thanks...that's what Ill do. Couldn't figure out any real benefit to having adjustable flaps. I made them static.

As I was told by our local stunt guru,  if flaps are lined up with each other, fix the warp or add a trim tab.  Just think a little about what the flaps are doing if they are not lined up with each other.

Yep.....trim tab is added....flaps are glued in place!
