Control line supplies in south Phoenix?
« on: August 28, 2009, 06:16:37 PM »
I'm back in Phoenix and have the Ringmaster Dan M. gave me almost ready to go. Being the usual lunk head I left my lines and handle in Portland ( in a box with 2 busted up planes!).

Is there someplace in the Chandler / Mesa / ASU area that has C/L supplies?  I would like to put up a few flights after my stellar performance in Eugene, just to take a plane back from the field in something resembling the way it arrived!

Well I went to 2 hobby shops on Saturday with no luck, then got up early today and drove to Estaban Park. The combat guys were doing some practice, and Leonard confirmed that C/L supplies are pretty rare in Phoenix. He kindly offered up a set of lines and an E-Z Just for me to use.

I spent an hour doing the stuff I should have done in my hotel romm with A/C, but eventually got an engine and tank mounted. Sergio arrived and provided moral support and a glow starter ( Please Sir! may I have a launch).

Plastic R/C clunk tank was giving me lean runs inverted, so Sergio lent me a different tank- and it really helped. The last few flights were pretty good, and I managed to get past the 3 outside loops of the beginner pattern and keep flying!  There is hope!

Thanks to Leonard and Sergio- you made my day. I'll be back in a few weeks- will you see if you can arrange some sub 100 degree weather?

They do that and you may never go home.  Glad you had a good time.  The Central Arizona guys are a great bunch.  DOC Holliday

All the Arizona guys are a great bunch!  VSC and the 1cc multi-engine scale contest and the other ones in Phoenix and Tucson show their caliber!  Except that they stole almost all our Nats winners!  S?P
Think S.M.A.L.L. y'all and, it's all good, CL, FF and RC!
