It was a nice sunny Sunday, so my thoughts began to wander during church....hmmm...looks like a good day to go fly stunt! With that plan in mind, and after some negotiating with my wife to only go to the park a block from our house instead of going 20 miles down the road to fly with Gordan
(Sorry Gordy!)......I got the ol' beater back in the air for 5 flights yesterday.
Here is a video of the first pattern of the year. It's not great, but it's a start, LOL!

The plane received some crash repairs over the winter which affected the trim on the controls, so the handle setting was off for this flight. Also, the engine was quite lean for this flight as you can hear it sag a few times during the flight and the lap times (4:45'ish) were fast. It ended up needing to go 5 clicks richer to get it to settle in to a nice rich 2-stroke. Different prop, fuel and conditions from the last time it flew. Lap times were much more relaxed with the needle set correctly.
Glad to get the handle back in my hand and get some patterns burned into the muscle memory. It's going to be a fun year. I look forward to improving my skills each time I fly.
