Title: First over 8 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did first over head 8s today! They were not real pretty and not as hard as I thought. We also got to take a ride in a real 4 seater plane. What a great day!

Great stuff Paul, keep after it, sometimes trying manuevers for the first time is more intimidating than doing the manuever, I know doing my first clover,, (if you could call it that!) was really scarey,, but hey once I tried it, it wasnt all that bad, of course as has been said, doing them well, sigh, thats the hard part!

You young pups amaze me. For weeks Paul has been asking about this, even to the point of searching out videos about it. It's about D#^* time you pulled it off. The suspense was killing me. Now that you have done the first ones slow down and practice the manuver. DON'T TRAIN PRACTICE IT. Nice going Paul I knew you could do it, all you needed was a little confidence in yourself and your ability, but then you already knew that. I look forward to seeing you at the "Brodak" meet to see how far you have progressed. Until then.

It was the perfect afternoon sun was setting and the wind was a very lite breeze. I knew it was my last flight of the day. I will practice, practice, practice and train my arm and mind to make the maneuver. I am not looking to win awards. My personal goal is to just do the beginner pattern. My hope it I can put it all together by June. #^ I am now almost out of fuel. That is a good thing right?

I think the most fun I ever had flying CL was when I was at the same place you are.. Learning to fly the pattern..

WOO HOOO way to go Paul......you will have it nailed in no time I am sure.....
little tip..... keep your arm fully extended as you are overhead....that way you have more room if something goes awry.......not that is does....but a good safety measure anyways.

Doing the overhead 8 is like Birdwatching. You can hear them but can't see them. Nice going. As for being out of fuel it's not as bad as being out of gas. That's an old guy's observation. %^@ %^@ %^@ LL~ %^@ %^@ H^^

Being out of fuel is one way of saying I have not been letting my fuel sit and go bad. I hope to get some soon. I am down to my last few drops. My plan is to put up some flights on my lunch hour this week so I don't forget how to do overheads. The lawn service is out today mowing the field. y1
