Title: First in 4 years
Post by: Zuriel Armstrong on April 20, 2007, 07:18:56 AM
After nearly four years I finally have built and "FINNISHED" a new plane.  I had intended to take this to Houston for the Brotherhood of the Ring contest, but I ran out of time and have not even broke-in the engine yet.  It is finished with Luster Coat over carbon veil and monokote on the wings.  Brodak 25 for power with a 3oz GRW tank on uniflow.  The plane is an RSM kit, lite version, and I highly recommend it.  I do not have the weight yet but it doesn't hurt my back when I pick it up and it sits flat on the floor of the back seat of my Honda Ridgeline.

Looks Great Z-man. I knew you could build a plane.

I can not wait to see it in RL.

Have fun this weekend at the contest,

Paul

How about some straight feedback on the Brodak 25.

I bought one Brodak 40, and I'm not impressed.  My Fox 35 Stunts and LA 25's all outrun it.

Paul, the old DOC here, I have two of each of the Brodak 40 & 25.  The 40 was broken in per instructions an has been a great engine for the price.  The other 40 is still being broken in.  The first 25 was ran on the bench 3 times and then put on the Brodak Mauler.  The grandaughter has been flying the combination since.  The last time out she was doing loops.  I have put the combination thru a full pattern several times.  I use Sig 10% fuel, Top Flite Power Point 10-4 prop and a 4 ounce clunk with uni-flo setup.  Also it is flown on .012 X 60 center of handle to center of plane.  The second 25 has several tanks on the bench and is ready to go in an airplane as soon as Bob Z. and John B. get the little bird out that was designed around the engine.  Later,  DOC Holliday

Thanks Bill.  I have made myself go out to the shop to work and it has been a blast too.  I read your post recently about life getting in the way and understand completely.  The Neptune is still at the top of the list and has an engine standing by.

Z,
That engine should be broke in good by the time Brodak's rolls around. y1

Poke, Poke.

Hi Zuriel,

I don't know what's wrong, but when it comes to building lately, I just cannot finish anything............ the least little something stops me cold in my tracks.  I have never been like this before!

I have three or four models that i know will be outstanding if I could just finish them.............

Looks nice Zuriel.
An uncluttered paint scheme always looks best, in my opinion.
I really like the wing graphics.    BW@
Makes me want to build one for myself.       8)

If you ever figure out what's doing that, let me know. I had that problem for years.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like you want to do bodily harm to that "Ringmaster" I got a terrific idea! Have you been following the "Ringmaster Plus" Thread elsewhere? They should be done and well tested by then. Can we bring them to protect that little guy?    LL~ LL~ LL~

That sure is a pretty plane Lou.  We gotta get them both out flying at the same session.  I'll have my rebuilt Score finished by this weekend.
