Well this morning the weather was almost perfect for flying.
You know the type of day. Clouds and close to 60 with 10 mph winds. I could not stand it so I grabbed my Tutor 2 and headed to the field for a few hours. Never know when we will get another day like today, might be April or May.
I did put up a few flights in January, but with my old SkyRay and I was just punching holes in the sky. No pattern.
First few flights today was short tanked and making sure I had the needle set. Had to turn it a few clicks until it felt right in flight. So I got my cheat sheet out and did the first full pattern of 2010. It was not real pretty but that is why the call it practice right? Felt good.
No photos due to card on camera phone is full. HB~>

Hi Paul,
Now that ya can do the pattern the correct way, try doing it in reverse. Four leaf clover, overhead eights, etc. Just for fun, Gary

Gary.
Somehow I think that is evil! LL~
I know I would probably put the plane into the ground.

Way to go amigo!
I bet is was the best pattern of the year, right?
Glad to hear your setting the needle on feel and not RPM. Nothing wrong with a tach, but this shows you are improving your "motor" skills. ;D
Were you solo?
30 degrees and rainy here today - boohoo.

There is no way I would think go doing the pattern bassakwards. I am doing good just reading my cheat sheet, counting laps and watching the plane.
Yea it was my best pattern all year, and the only one of 2010. <= I was kind of solo... my flying friend John Morrison showed up but did not bring a plane. Then a new guy stopped by and said he had not flown C/L in years. We added him to our mailing list so he will maybe come out and watch the next time we try and gather the troops.
30 and rain sounds like sleet and ice? n~
