My flying buddy has been experimenting with the best fuel to use in his ST-51. So far, things have been going well. I believe that he's found one that's fairly economical, too.

Funniest thing I've seen all day. I've been mixing my own for a long time...maybe I'll try that stuff!!! LL~ LL~ LL~ n~ n~

What are the ingrediants and % of things in the fuel?

Use the old Fox formula his used to put on his cans. I think it was 5% nitro, 29% castor and the rest was methanol. Now don't hold me to it as the memory is not what it used to be.

Awww. You know, everything I said was perfectly true. If anyone got the notion that he was actually using soap in his engine that was just from reading between the lines.
Fuel is Sig Champion. 10% nitro (I think) and 25% total oil. He broke the engine in on all-castor, and now uses half & half. It works great, when we can remember the recipe for a one-flip start on an inverted ST 51. The Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap container is just because it's a nice 1/2 gallon jug that fits his flight box.
I should have included the shot of the liquid fertilizer bottle, too.

Heck, my fuel can says Thompson Water Seal. Works like a charm. ;D

Mine says Clorox! I find this fuel works much better when kept in the half gallon size. I tried the gallon size once, but it kept changing the bell crank position in my Twister. I also tried the gallon size on my Nobler ARC (the only one in existence, and not a misprint) but the ED at Portland wouldn't let me fly it because it was way too far advanced a plane for beginner. When I switched to the half gallon size he DQ'd me because I was speaking English instead of Italian! And that's the truth why I no longer fly PA!
