Finally got the mowers in working order with a little or a few words from my son on care of mowers. With the planes loaded and then the mower, the grandson and I headed to the field.
After mowing the grandson got first flight with the Brodak Magician. Then I hooked up the lines to the Arctic Fox. A little trouble getting the Brodak 40 to run. Once sorted out it ran good. Either I screwed up royally or Leo Mehl designed one terrific airplane. Only made three flights with it and need someone to tell if it is flying with wings level or not. Third flight I tried a reverse wingover and it got real light on the lines. The B 40 is not needled right yet. Still a little on the rich side. But the plane made me feel so comfortable I had to keep telling myself, no pattern yet.
Then I put up one flight on the Cardinette. It is another sweet flying plane that will take some trimming. The little 4 stroke was a little lean, but, kept motoring on. Just did loops, inverted and lazy 8's. I think I have a winner with both planes. By the way the grandson flew the Jr Nobler that I traded a kit for at VSC. It needs a lot of work, especially the little Fox 15 Schneurle. More later, DOC Holliday
