Hi all, I purchased the plans to a BlueMax 60 this year and thinking of building one start of next year..I also have dibs on the purchase of a Super Tiger 61 which has new ceramic piston and liner. is this too big for the Bluemax ?I was going to put my ST46 G21 up front but now I'm undecided.

Everyone will offer a different opinion on your question depending upon their current favorite but for sure the Tigre .46 will NOT be enough power to fly the airplane effectively.  I don't think the Tigre .61 was ever meant to be a stunt engine especially.  I'd go in with an RO Jett .67 if on a muffler or the Jett .61 or .67 if using the tuned pipe.  A PA in this size range will work fine too but are very hard to come by.  The Jetts can readily be purchased.  An older Tigre .60 could work.  That may be what Kaz had in mind when he designed the BM 60.  You also might look into a large Stalker.

I agree that a 46 is not enough for a plane of that size.  An ST 51 would probably work OK, if you can find a control line version.

Due to low demand, many engines are no longer in production, so it might be hard to find anything.  Either get lucky and find one on eBay or at an estate sale, or go with one of the specialty manufacturers like RO Jett or Stalker.  Be prepared to spend some money but the Stalkers and RO Jetts are well-made.

Somewhat of a sleeper here is the ASP/Magnum line of engines.  Like most of the mass-produced engines of the past, it might be hard to find now.  I have an ASP 52 in a 64 ounce plane.  Although an RC engine, it needs only a venturi and needle assembly and will work perfectly for our use.  It needs nothing else, and the price is usually right, if you can find one.
