Dan, I thought I had a photo of those scores on my I-pad. If I don't...I'll get them on here tomorrow. I've got to put together a report for Howard anyway.

Thanks James, hopefully someone will fill in the blanks on it, design, power, wingspan, etc...

It is John Hill's plane. It is big. Probably has a RoJett 60. The case definitely has 'Jett' on it.
I am wondering a 'B' model ever had the dorsal on the fin.
-
Yes. Some did have the dorsal fin. There are recent full size B/C restorations that show both versions.

If I remember my reading correctly from years ago, 'B" model razor back Mustangs were produced with no added dorsal fin/fairing. When the "bubble top" production started on the "C" models, they did not have the dorsal fin/fairing, but as they reached combat, pilots complained about lack of lateral stability, and the dorsal fin was added and the production models with the addition became the "D" model. Any "B" model examples had them added in the field, and then were designated "C" types. That's what I remember reading about the confusing type designation of the Mustang.
Type at you later,

The P-51 does belong to John Hill and it does have a Jett engine, but I don't remember the displacement. From what I understood, it is based on a Pat Johnston design. The fuselage outline was massaged by John so that it is more accurate to the full scale that he was modelling. John's model was the well deserving recipient of the pilot's choice award. It really is a beautiful model.

I filmed John's flight, (last one of the contest) his Mustang flew extremely well, very stable and precise, even in the high winds. Beautiful airplane. I'll try and post the video, as soon as I figure out how. :P

Yeah, there were both C's (birdcage) and D's (bubbletop) produced with and/or without the dorsal fin extension. Hard to say when/where the production breaks may have been, it may also of had something to do with where they were built.
John's Mustang really looks great, thanks for the info and let us know when the kit comes out. ;D
