Favorite? HB~>  That's an impossibility for me. I love'm all! But only if they fly. I dislike "Hanger Queens" at the flying field  n1, but in a museum they are OK. y1

Sparky, You didn't say who built that plane.  I was there when it was designed, built
and painted. It was/is an absolutely gorgeous model and would be front row at any
contest! I got to fly it a couple of times. Used a RedHead .40. I still miss my good
friend as he taught me a lot about building and painting. Oh yeah, his name was
Tom Warden.  RJ

P.S. Tom was also a top three finalist at the Nat's.

Let's see here now.  That Tom Warden with maybe that airplane was 1/2 of the famous OS Stunt Team in the early 70's.  Featured in several of the World Engines advertisements found on the rear cover page of Model Airplane News for several months.

The JD Falcon. I have a kit, but I've never built or flown one. Just think its one of the prettiest.
Never knew that plane was kitted, who made it please? I have always loved it but never got around to scratch build it. If you ever decide to part with it, I would love to have it. Thanks

Whatever I am flying at the moment, which flys to suit me, is the favorite.  I have built several of Frank Ehling's 1949 Easy airplanes,   a #4, two #5, a #6, and two #7. The other is the Dmeco Stuntwing.  One many years ago with a Torp 19, and three in recent years with St G20-15 diesels.

I guess mine would be the Bob Palmer Go-Devil models. I have built a dozen of them over the years, first one in 1948.

If you liked that one you should try a Novar  ;D ;D

Randy

I just might do that Randy...I have been attracted to it before.

I have another PA65 doing nothing.  Right now I'm trying to finish some airplanes and there I go thinking about starting another one...I have 4 to paint right now!

Thanks for the suggestion though!

Still....

Hi Herb,
I'm doing really good.  Just started pushing 74 from the top side and able to work out three days a week,  still spend lots of time in the shop, and thoroughly enjoying life.
Thanks for asking, how about yourself?  doing great, I hope.

Hi Steve,

Blue Sky Models (Tom Niebuhr) Made a beautiful kit of the JD Falcon.  Laser cut, etc., and since Tom is a great friend of John D'., it was accurate.

With Tom's recent health problem, he has suspended kit production, but it would be worth it to contact him.  a finer Gentleman you will never meet!

That's a great one to John, no doubt about it. Like for you to do another one?????

Its a possibility.....just cant get jazzed about building when doing the type of work I do....last thing I want to do at the end of the day to relax is to sand or spray or fiddle with fine detail. Hey, do you or anyione in club have pics of my last Chevelle? Sorry didnt mean to jack the thread! PM me Keith.

Man, you guys have some great taste in shapes and colors. I may never be able to build all of those but I see some designs that will surely inspire me to bash together some profiles for no better reason than to put my unused engines to work.

Here's a plastic fantastic design I love, but have only seen once in real life. A slab version build is destined for either a Thunder Tiger .15 or a Tee Dee .09. Maybe even an Enya 35.

What has been, or is, your favorite CL model airplane?

Think about an come up with only one.  Include pictures if you have them!

Chevelle
I put my biggest effort into this finish, and I was somewhat satisfied with the result.  For me that's saying a lot.

Very special, Allan.  I've got a thing for open cockpit stunters.

It really is a sharp looking plane. I saw a guy on the Tube flying some pattern style loops and Horizontal 8s and it looked pretty good. I sure wish it had been designed with a Tee Dee instead of a Bee though. A Killer Bee refit would be almost as good. I'd love to have one. I'd fly it if I did.
I hope I can get around to making my profile copy this Summer. I have a Skyray and an Oriental in line ahead of it though.

Yea it needs more power...The "sure start" .049 that comes with is just barely enough power to sustain flight but you cant even do a real wingover.  I swopped it for a killer bee and now your can get through some of the pattern but it need more yet...Im actually planning on an electric conversion for mine.

I have had some really good airplanes in the past. My "Clipper" that I designed in 1964 was great in all conditions. That's Ed Elasick sitting on my tool box.

While you either like it or not John D'Ottavio's "Jerseyan", that I am still flying, is perhaps the best. Grooves like it is on tracks and turns on a dime. With moments that are seen today, this design was way ahead of it's time. It does everything that you can ask in all weather conditions.
