Weather was perfect, the turnout was huge and it was topped off by a superb Paella dinner courtesy of Warren Walker.
He is donating the proceeds to the contest fund! What a guy!
And this was just a practice day! Tomorrow is old time and classic Flying.
-
Don't forget the pics! ;D

The weather service is reporting windy conditions. Too much for me if I was there.
-
It was too much for a lot of people. Many didn't fly at all. And at least one wind induced crash.
I had three close calls on just one flight. I took a pass on the second flight in Old Time. #^
Good hamburgers, though! ;D
I scored an ARF Flite Streak for $30, and my Ringmaster survived its flight unscathed. So a good day over all. #^
I'll post photos when I get home.

A panoramic of the appearance judging room tonight. Starting on the left side, FOUR 20 point models!

Thanks for the teaser, Clint! Are you able to post some more pics for those of us not fortunate enough to be there in person?

That's all I have, Mike. But I've seen people snapping photos like crazy.

Disappointing result from Warren's fundraising Paella bash. People only contributed an average of $5.
You can't buy a burger and fries fo that! n1l
Even so he contributed to the contest fund. Good guy, Warren!

The total raised was 278.00, we took in 253.00 on Friday night, then two more guys threw in 25.00 on Saturday morning.
The total cost of the food was 160.00 I held back 100.00 and donated the rest. There are so many hard working
people, working together to make this great contest happen, I figure they can use all the help they can get.
It was my pleasure to cook the Paella along with my two spur of the moment helpers, I hope I have her name correct,
Joan Cox and the guy who is always the first one to step up anytime you need help, Doug Barton.
Between the three of us we pulled off a pretty good feed.

Gary Gingerich called this afternoon and bragged about having won Advanced with his Yatsenko Yak 54. I've been bugging him to fly Expert for some years now. All youse guys in AZ please get onboard with this! y1 Steve
-
Gary Gingerich is one of the nicest and most helpful guys in the hobby. As far as I'm concerned, he can fly any class and/or event he wants to.
-
Congratulations Gary Gingerich on your 1st place in advance. I hope to compete against you again before you go to expert. What was the scores at GSSC please somebody post some pics.
