For your enjoyment, this is a Image I created using my 3D modeling software. You can use it for a PC wall paper or resize it and send it as an E card or what ever you wish.

Enjoy.

Great picture Peter:

Just so happens I'm building one of Don Hutchinson's P-38's right now.

What did you use for a detail reference?

Go to this link and scroll down to the P-38 info, also alot of info on other airplanes, it is in a foreign language but it is easy enough to figure out.

This is a link to a zip file that has all the 3 the p-38 , great stuff in there, also used photos found on the web

Great pictures, and thaks for the info source. This shuld be a big help for those who are building Hutch's P-38.

Curt,
How about posting some pictures of your P-38's status?
Bill Gruby CLAIMS that he is building one, but so far he has not shown any pictures!!!!Hint  Hint, Bill G!!!

Well Guys:

I haven't gotten too far yet.  The booms are framed and the pod.  I took some liberties with the structure.  Laminated the outline for the pod too keep from wasting a large plank of 1/2".  Also lightened up the nose of the booms some.  Lengthened the crutches, and maximized the through openings for the tanks--I want to turn 10-4 3 blades with the little FP 25's so will need to run fairly large venturies and some hot fuel..

Ribs are all cut out as well.  No sanding on them as yet--really never do taht until the wing is assembles.  You can see the way the ink transfers with acetone from the copies of each rib.  About an hour with an exacto and a couple of sharp pcs of tubing.
