Title: Fall Fun Fly
Post by: Paul Taylor on November 01, 2009, 08:27:34 PM
Well the rain finally move out and today we had a fairly decent turn out at the field.  Jim Treace came all the way from Jacksonville Florida by way of Pairs Tennessee and was the first one at the field. He brought a truck full of planes and his two grandkids. His SpitFire is a true piece of art work. Pictures do not do it justice. He was the first one to put up. And a little later he put both his grand kids on his RingMaster. Future pilots. Jackie Scott showed up a little later with his P-Force. Man those are nice flying planes. And Jackie call spell Force, unlike some people spelling it Phorce.
Then one by one people started showing up and before we knew it we had a whole flock of planes on the ground and in the air. Kenny Perkins came out and had some special fuel and tried to set a new speed record with a fast combat plane. Nelson 36 engine and he got it up to about 135mph!  Whew! That thing was FAST! At noon we fired up the grill and Jim brought all the food! Right down to cookies. Yum-Yum. After lunch everyone was ready to fly. I brought my hand-me down Green Stunter. I took the McCoy .40 out and dropped in a OS FP .40. Much better. I really like the way it fly’s. I think I have a new tool to work on my pattern. I even worked on my Bi-Slob skills. Too much fun was had by all.

Who's "Galloping Comedian" is that?  The hat looks just like the one I wear to fly and would really like to find one like it for my models.

Steve,
It's my Galloping Comedian and I used a plastic "Woody" doll from the movie "Toy Story". I got the 'doll' from Wal-Mart and did a little surgery to make him fit in the cockpit. And since the hat was a loose part of the doll had to used some plastic glue to make the hat stay on.

Jim,
Woody looks like a very good pilot. I notice that he likes to sit low in the cockpit. He probably likes very low outsides.

That is a very good looking "Spit"

That Spitfire is very cool !!! Everyone had to get a close up of that plane.
I liked the Zilch pilot too. Don't think he did much fishing this summer. This is another fine plane of Jim's.

Jim,
Thanks a lot.  I guess I better trek on over to Wally World before the Christmas rush starts.
