Title: Fall Follies
Post by: johnt4051 on September 24, 2012, 12:25:27 PM
Hi, Stunt Fliers.
On Oct. 6-7 in Salem, Ore., is one of the most fun contests of the year, and our Northwest season finale.  Not only is it a great weekend of competition in usually beautiful fall weather at the very nice Salem flying site, but it's where we give away our annual Vintage Stunt Trophy and have a tasty barbecue.  Hope everyone can make it.
I do need help, though.  If possible, I would like to line up judges beforehand to avoid some of the armtwisting that usually is necessary.
Anyone who would be willing to volunteer to do some judging, please contact me soon.
  Thanks!

I'm planning to be there Saturday AM, in time to help with Classic and Profile. I'll be flying Exspurt (sp?) on Sunday for the 1st time, so work me around that.

Hunts said that the party Sat. night will have to be at Macminimon's Bar & Girl. The folks that bought the Hunt's house are NOT willing to host the party again. Party poopers, huh?

And, most importantly, I am looking for a roomie to split a motel room for Saturday night. Non-smoking room, of course.  H^^  Steve

Sometimes Canadian English is different from American English. Thus above may be read as: "Don't expect me to help in any way. However, Joan will be with me and can work all day both days."

You saw right through that, didn't you Dan.  That said, will we be seeing you for the very first time this season Dan?  We (read - Joan) miss you.

well it looks like I will make it after all.
In fact, I will manage to get my 55 hours in by thursday night so I can leave Friday morning.
is anyone planning on being at the flying site friday afternoon, I sure would like to shake the rust off before the contest.

Bringing th Avenger and my new Electrajet profile,, and a good attitude in need of rest,,

weather.com says its supposed to be mid 70s and wind from 5 to 8 all weekend,,

well, I suppose except after the sun goes down,,

Please quit being so polite. People will think we are friends when it has been clear for years Joan is my favorite person in the Cox family.

Alas, my contest record for 2012 will remain unsullied by, you know, actually going to a contest.

I'll miss one and all. Chris a little bit, but especially Joan...

I attempted to fly this evening.  Mr. Walker flew a pattern to show that it could be done.  I shall wait for the forecasted zephyrs on the morrow.

As far as breezes, it was almost perfect here at Friendship Park in Topeka KANSAS.   Cloudy and temps in  the 40's F.  Flew from 0900 to 1400 before calling it a day.
