The World Air Games are currently going on from December 1st - 12th in Dubai. Among the aeromodeling disciplines represented is F2D and with some heavy hitters at that: Former and current world and European champs including Stanislav Chornyy, Igor Dementiev, and Audrius Rastenis just to name a few. It appears there will be live streams for the entire event and F2D runs during the next 3 days!
Pretty darn cool!

Robby,
True very cool.
I've always thought that F2C and F2D both, if filmed correctly, could be very attractive and entertaining to the average person. Wide World of Sports had lumberjack games, and the like, that were interesting to watch, even if I've never owned a chain saw. I forget who it was, a film enthusiast and modeler I think, got into the judges stand at one of the Russian World Champs, and filmed all of the Team Race (F2C) finals. Shot down from an elevated position, where you could get a good view of the entire circle, it was a great shot. A good F2C race is really entertaining to watch, even for those who have never smelled the fragrance of ether and castor. F2D with some slowmo replays would be a hoot to watch.
Well done FAI.

Frank,
You said it all. Just think... ESPN covers polka tournaments!!???

I've seen poker tournaments (briefly, while channel surfing), but never polka tournaments. Some of those German girls with the low cut white blouses would make that interesting, I suppose. H^^ Steve
