Got a notice on FB that Michael T. Murray's birthday was today. Except that even I can remember that he passed away several months ago, and I have never met him. You'd think that FB would have some sort of mechanism to take the deceased off the roles...kinda like our voter's registration system used to do? Just a crazy idea here. Can friends or relatives inform FB of this? D>K Steve

Michael was a good friend of mine and I tried to contact facebook about his death several months ago to no avail. I admit that I'm not much of an expert on facebook but I truly believe they don't want direct contact with any of the users!
When my Face Book page was hacked (at least twice) I attempted to contact them and again to no avail! They seem to live in their own little (albeit filthy rich) world!

They've already got this covered. Any member can anoint another to be a"Legacy Contact". It should be done before the event. Otherwise they require proof of the death.
