I don't know how they do it. All the time, I am expecting a big tangle of lines, men and spinning props...

I built a Blue Pants as a kid. Wish I still had it. Might even learn to fly it.

Thanks, guys.  I will make every effort to get there and help out.

(I really wasn't trying to be a smart a$$, I just don't have all those FAI categories committed to memory and I know that there has been a lot of combat being held at the Huntersville meets!  I do know what F2B is! LOL!!)

An update to Ed Ruane's post as to how this came about.

Bob Whitney and Bill Lee asked me to consider biding on this event when we were at the F2C contest in Stark, FL where I volentered as a lap counter/Timer.
After a brief discussion at the Nov. MCLS meeting we decided to submit a bid to host the event.

Bill Lee has informed me that the 2012 F2C, Team racing, Team Trials have been awarded to the Metrolina Control line Society.
The event will be held on Sept, 3rd & 4th at our field, Waymer Flying field in Huntersville, NC.

This is quite an honor for our club and I thank Bill and the selection committee for selecting our bid.

52' is quite close. The rules say 15,92m from model C/L to handle C/L. That's about 52,37'. L

The Team Selection is over now. The Huntersville guys did a bang-up job hosting us. A nice site, well prepared.

The team consists of

Fluker/Lambert
Albritton/Perkins
Fischer/Wilk

with Allen/Whitney as the alternate.

On behalf of the F2C community and the F2C Team Selection Committee, thanks to the Huntersville folks for their fine effort.

High Gang.

MetroLina Control Line Society hosted the F2C (Team Race) Team Trails this Saturday and Sunday down at the Huntersvilles NC flying site. Jimmy Welch and I went down to help out where we could. It takes a bunch of man power to put on one of these events. Out of respect to the Metrolina gang we felt like that it was the least we could do. It was an honor for us to be trusted to help out on a very important control line event. Plus we got to see world class control line flying up close. This was a great event.

Sonny, Gene and Watt organized what needed to be done early Saturday morning, These three gentlemen are the best you ever want to work for.

John Tate

Thank you MCLS members who contributed your time and effort.
Thank you John and Jimmy for your support. It helped make this event a success for the FAI officials and competitors.
