Just a reminder that the US F2B team selection contest will be held this coming weekend (Oct 14,15) in Dallas. If you want to fly (its a great measurement of you skills) be there by noon on Friday to enter. If you want to spectate (its better flying and tighter competition than the Nats) be there Sat or Sunday. There will be about 80 flights on Saturday starting at 8am or so, and 30+ flights on Sunday. Sunday will finish up by noon. If you are in the area or close driving distance its a great chance to see the best in the country compete for a chance to represent the USA in Landres France next summer. You can learn alot by watching these guys and gals.

I know one who will be leaving here Wednesday if nothing happens. Like my guys/gals in car racing I'm not going to cheer for my favorite as usually some thing happens. I asked Dave if he had a backup plane as his is looking good to this old man. Had a stooge malfunction this evening, but I came to his rescue and he got another flight in. So I'm cheering for the whole bunch including the young lady to represent the Good Ole USA. #^ #^ #^
No US flag to wave in the emoticons.(spelling). D>K

I’m tagged for a currency flight at 0500 on Friday. Might be...overdressed...for the pilots meeting. n~

Weather forecast is for 88 to 90 for the weekend. Normal Fall temps will return next week. This has been a strange year everywhere. We have had Stunt heaven winds for periods and then some days will be 10 to 25 mph. Hope to have better forecast info Thursday.
I'll be there for practice sessions Friday and for the finals Sunday

Texas and Arizona are two places where I have lived and found it necessary at times to need the air conditioner and heater on the same day.
-
I'm just 3 1/2 hrs away so I can't pass this one up. Going to spectate.

No sir, but I have met John, and was amused that we had the same last name. I think we met at a contest Oklahoma City, more years ago than I care to admit. ;D

Fred, that is the exact same reason I want to go. Driving in on Friday, driving back on Sunday. Hope to meet you one of those days. :)

Everyone should have their Ringmasters in fine trim after last weekend. ;D

I have arrived at Hobby Park in Dallas. Found Darrel Harvin already here. It's about 60 degrees now going for 72 later. A bit breezy. Better than the 45 degrees I left at home.

Yes Dave...a bit coolish today...Texas has me in a long shirt this morning
Hell, if I knew a few guys would be DAYs early, I might have chosen to encroach on my Dallas daughter
See you all Saturday
-
Fred you aren't missing too much yet. Dale Gleason has been out doing weed trimming on the field and Jose Modesto came in and put up a flight. It's a little breezy still. I put up four flights and then everybody left the field. I will go back after chow and fly some more. I'll be back then in the morning.

Dave, don't have burn out flying too much. LL~ LL~ Hope the weather warms a little for you guys if its like it is here at home. Had to dig out my stocking cap and looking for my gloves. D>K

Practice weather this morning was really pretty good- not as breezy as yesterday. We had a good foursome going on one circle with Jose, Eric Taylor, Wes Eakin and myself burning in flights. The other circle was going with Bob McDonald, Chris Rud, Steve Moon, Chris Rigotti and I think Mike Scott. Howard was prepping when we broke for lunch. Will be back out a little later. The weather looks like we will see it all in the next few days. Heat, wind and thunderstorms are on tap for Saturday and Sunday.

Afternoon practice was sunny, warm and just a little windy but very doable. Late this evening Doug Moon brought the 'Bear', Bob Gieske's great airplane and put up a nice pattern with it. Not lost on anyone was the history of Bob flying this airplane on this very circle, his home field. I'll post a few pics.
