A good source of information is the DMAA website at http://www.DMAA-1902.org You will find field information including maps to the field and links to find close-by motels.
There are a few caveats. however.
This is the same weekend as the Texas-Oklahoma traditional football game. That brings a lot of folks from out of town with the corresponding pressure on motels. That game will be over at ATT Stadium (where the Coboys play) and our field is clear across Dallas from there. The local motels near our site should be available.
We share the parking at the field with the soccer folks. Given that we will likely be there early every day, there should be no problems whatsoever. I have spoken with their boss-man (Raul Lopez) and he was VERY congenial and quite happy to work with us to pull off this event. A very impressive man!

Thanks for the update Bill.

ERROR!! The Texas - Oklahoma game is at at the Cotton Bowl, not at ATT stadium. That is near downtown Dallas and and may create motel problems. Be warned! Make your reservation asap.
Bill
Edit to add: On the DMAA website under the "Locations" tab you will find a link that show motels in the vicinity of the site. This is the standard Google "find motels" display, centered on Samuell-Garland Park.

Thanks Randy, Frank and Bill for all you do! H^^

300+ miles closer for me, but the Tulsa Combat get together is even closer. Don't forget the pictures of contestants and planes. Also have fun as I know Dallas has a really decent flying field. H^^

Well, maybe not 300 miles, but yes, closer for you, Doc! :-)
The Dallas site is a nice CL site. It has been in this location for .. 60? .. 70?.. years. We have two paved circle that are good and two grass circles. The only holes in the pavement are where Doug Moon crashes his stunters when he picks up the handle upside down! :-)
(Or was that Steve? ::) )
We will be sharing the parking with the local soccer association, and they have been VERY gracious in working with us to make it happen. Since we will typically all be at the site early, we should encounter no problems.
But keep in mind: outside Muncie, there is NO BETTER SITE THAN SCOBEE. Just that Harvey had other ideas this year!

Our son Craig and his wife are flying in on the 14th, so I will miss that day. But I will be there on Friday the 13th to see many old friends while they practice. I will also be there for the finals on Sunday the 15th.

Oh no that was me.....
I have been making holes in those circles since 1990!

I got reservations at Microtel yesterday but yeah they were about 50-60% higher than when I looked three days ago.
