FAA confirms shooting down a drone is a felony...
« on: April 21, 2016, 11:25:55 AM »
Well, the FAA confirmed that shooting down a drone is a felony with a possible 20 year sentence.

Since all models over 9 ounces are formally "drones", does the same apply to damaging any one of my planes with the federal registration number on it?

A lot of combat guys are getting nervous. Unless shooting down and taking out are different.

I can tell you that if a drone is hovering outside my windows, it's going down and I'll bury it and deny everything.

It has to be "plausible denial" remember, you are dealing with the federal government. Also, try to make sure you have a "spokesperson" available, who can deny everything, even under intense media pressure. Last but not least, make sure you have your "press release" written and ready to go, and practice reading it like you were training for the Walker Cup.

They make it a Felony to take it out. A good smoke screen. Now they don't
need  a search warrant to spy or you snoop around your property.
It's going to get real  interesting needless to say.

This is closer to what I'd like to see for a headline. Fixed it for you!  y1 Steve

I thought the FAA was a regulatory agency.
Wouldn't a law enforcement or judicial authority be the one to determine what is a felony?
