I just got off the phone with Horizon Hobby. The Evolution 36 CL that was supposed to be shipped in mid-May, then mid-June, will not be shipped before mid-July at the earliest. The only reason I could get for the delay was "They haven't come in yet". If you (like me) have one on backorder, you will have to wait a while longer. Oh well!!

Hi Bill. If it eases the pain at all, we will have two of the production intent 36's at Brodak. One in a Cardinal and the other in a Vector. Everyone should feel free to bug us for a look and listen.

I have an Evo 36 that I made a venturi for, otherwise it is the stock RC engine. It flies my ARF Cardinal Quite well. I won advanced p-40 stunt at the DMAA Not Presidents Day contest with it. Oh yea, I do have the CL motor on order.

Wish I could be at Brodak's to bug you for a look at the Evo 36. Unfortunately, some medical issues that I am experiencing right now will not allow me to make a trip that long. Seems like a lot of new things in this sport get delayed at the outset. The engine will be here when it gets here. It's no big deal. I just wanted to post the info that I got from Horizon.
I WANT MY NEW TOY!!!! (but I can wait).

Hi Mike. I started with the rc myself. I thought it ran pretty nice. Did you put a needle in the vent or stay with the remote valve? I've tried to stay with the remote because it's a part of the Evolution concept. I tried three vent sizes , that's how the three ended up in the production engine. We're running the smallest dia (.218) in the Cardinal arf and have the middle size (.235) in the Vector arf. The jet in the vent is around 0.135 dia. od and extends to the c/l of the vent. I've found that the jet id needs to be at least .040" dia. to make the start-up clean. I started out at .030 dia and it was hard to start. After I opened it up to .044" it eliminated the start-up lag and made the needly more responsive. The stunt liner eliminates the boost port and has a reduced width exh port. It broadens the torque curve and really cleans up the four cycle burn.

Sorry to hear you won't be there. I don't get to many contests. I think it's worth waiting for, thank goodness they can't delay Christmas..... I'll see if I can get dad to tape it at the contest and I'll post it to youtube... stay tuned. I'm not getting there till Thursday. Take care.

Is there a Super Tigre style needle valve assy that will fit this motor? I don't like the idea of cutting a big round hole in the fuse for the remote needle assy.

I'll look into it. There is probable a Randy needle that will. The largest venturi is .272" id so It's pretty good to go for the vent needle. It will have to be drilled thru....

For the guys followingthis thread I posted a video in the "Videos on a summers day thread. I guess I should have posted it here. It's the Evo 36 production intent engine in a Brodak arf Vector.

Why has this motor aroused so much interest? Is it stronger/better than an OS, Enya, or a Brodak?
Uness there is some quantum improvement associated with the Evo 36, why abandon those motors having such a good track record?

Floyd,
Anytime an engine supplier is willing to put forward the effort and expense to develop an engine specifically for CL Stunt, and especially at a very affordable price, it makes sense to me that all CL stunt fliers would be more than a little interested.
Most of the large engine manufacturers have shown little to no interest in really developing specialized CL Stunt engines. The ones that have offerings are for the most part simply converted RC engines and most leave something to be desired in the "real" stunt run category.
Given the above I don't understand why you would think that the interest in this new engine development is odd!

Three venturis, two mufflers, light weight, stunt timed, developed by two members of the Adamisin family, $79.00, you bet I'm interested #^

Folks,
We are in the process of unpacking the shipment now and going through our internal QA process. We really appreciate everyone's patience ... I promise it will be worth it :)
