Anyone know if the lug holes are the same?

No, they are not.  The Evo is narrower across the case and the bolt holes are closer together for and aft.
          case   lateral    longitudinal
Evo       30     38        15               millimeters
LA40-46 32     40.5      17.5

the Evo is more a 25 size case punched out to a larger displacement.  It will just about drop in where an LA 25 was, except the bolt holes are .5 mm farther apart.(and it's 2.5 oz. heavier)

The lugs and shaft length are exactly the same as a Saito 40.
