Will is in the hospital, since mid week, with an internal infection. I'll leave the details for him to divulge. They are treating him with big-gun antibiotics, and he is improving. He says he's bored as hell, so I think that's a good sign.

Hi, Fred, thanks. In case you don't know, Will is the president of our Carolina Gang, MCLS at Huntersville. He also is CD for both of our contests, and CD or Co-CD for Brodak and the Triple Tree contest after Joe Nall week. A truly valued member of our community.

Will confided in me that he thinks he will be ready to go right after Joe Nall Week. Then, he needs a little time off and should be ready to go right after Brodak!

John, this was in my email this morning from Don Jenkins:
I talked at length with Will last night after they drained his lungs. He said it was quite painful and unpleasant but when complete he could breath much better and is feeling stronger. He will remain in the hospital for several more days to ensure he recovers properly. He was told it will take quite a while to get back to full strength. Keep him in your prayers.

Prior to that, I understand they've got the liver abscesses drained and cleaned out pretty well, which is what made him sick. And they are continuing to pound it with antibiotics.
He has responded to my texts when I've checked on him, but I'm avoiding calling because I don't want to wake him or interrupt the medical people that are around him.

Just a quick note to say thank you for all of the comments above, plone calls , visits and messages over the past weeks . I am recovery well, back home and back in the shop building , taking it slow , but well on the way ton 100 % recovery ,
Busy month ahead , this weekend is Huntersville 3 day contests , the following week is 8 days of Joe Nall week, and Tripletree championship, two weeks off then on to Brodak's week. All three events are eligible for the Triple Crown Trophy to winner in Expert.. Tall order ,

Glad to hear all is good. From what I could tell at the Brodak contest, all the CDs and Event Directors were in perfect health. Several pilots, including myself, were interested in not only their official flights, but also training, practicing and coaching as the week transpired. Just as at our local contest, the NVCL StuntFest, the decisions to allow practice helped make a great event even better.
