Title: Eurocoupe?

Not that I'm ready to start yet another project, but does anyone know if there is an existing design for a .40 size Eurocoupe stunter?

I seem to recall one in a british mag or maybe website...Don't you mean Ercoupe?

Hey Clint - Dick Mathis designed a profile sport stunt Ercoupe but I don't know where you could get plans.  The Palmer "Mars" is sort of Ercoupe like, just ditch the cheek cowls. Other than that, I don't know of any other possibilities. The spelling was changed to Aircoupe later on in its history.

Added 8/21: Jack Stafford Models used to produce a real nice scale R/C Ercoupe kit. Wingspan was probably about 60'. Not suitable for stunt but I always thought it would make a real nice scale U/C plane. If you could get a set plans downsized it could be the basis for a Stunt-Coupe. 8)

I saw a set of plans for a profile on one of the plans sites the other night.

I think it was the Mathis design.

Larry Scarenzi (?) did a full fuselage one for 09, in MAN, I think.  I have plans for one in Aeromodeller for a 21 size engine.  Very close to scale, and OTS legal.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't specify in my post, but I was looking for a full bodied ship, not a profile. Pete is right about the Mars, sort of Ercoupe-ish. I'd like to see the Scarenzi(sp) version.

Well, sounds like if I decide to do this plane, I'll be drawing my own version. Of course, I'd have to steal a good wing design from someone else. ;D

Clint: Recipe for a Stunt Coupe:
Start with an Oriental wing w/ wing gear and re-shaped the flaps. Don't forget the dihederal!  Add a Tempest fuselage with Ercoupe style canopy. Borrow a horizontal stab, elavator and tip vertical fins from an Olympic.  Round off the vertical fins to an Ercoupe shape. Power with engine of your choice and go fly! 8)

Pete, there's got to be simpler way. Anybody got a copy of the '58 MAN article?

Maybe Clint would be interested in the "Moody Mooney"? Classic legit and a very cool design, IMO. Lloyd Curtis, I think. Not a simple project, tho Clint's "Playboy" suggests that he could handle it! If I'm not wrong, Lloyd Curtis was at VSC 22?  H^^ Steve

the Aeromodeller Ercoupe plane is in the July 1950 issue. It has 39 1/2 inch span.  I compared it to the real thing and it looks very close to scale.  I thought the rudders were too small, but they are not.

If you base it on the "Aeromodeler" (Brit Mag) design, it would be a true "Eurocoupe".  y1
