ET1 Electric Trainer
« on: November 11, 2012, 10:19:27 AM »
How many clubs out there (or individuals) would be interested in obtaining a laser cut ET1?

We have completed the testing and know that we can reproduce the parts on the laser. At this time we do not have costing completed but since we have a very large supply of election signs (finally something worthwhile from the politicians!!!) we are only talking about laser time and some plywood parts. For those who do not have the availability we can also supply the electrical parts if required.

Let us know so we can make the final decision on whether we run off a bunch of these.

Regards
Eric Rule

Either of those timers should work fine for this application. You will not be able to stop the model if the trainee gets dizzy as with the radio setup that Larry is using. I seem to recall that the minimum time for those Hubin timers is 2 minutes so you could just hold the model (running) to use up part of the  time interval (say 1 1/2 minutes so the actual flight is 30 seconds). Will Hubin can program one of these to run for just a few seconds to several minutes so you might be better off asking him what he would charge for a special programmed timer (extra short minimum).

Even  though I have the pdf's to make one I would buy the kit assuming it is made from an old political sign. Somehow that just strikes me as a very good use of all the used signs.

A great use indeed!!! And not to stop with the ET-1 trainer I've been building the ACP-12 1/2A Coro Platters using scrape signage for the last year or so. I am going to provide Eric Rule of RSM a dozen or so of the 18 x 24 signs that I've collected since the election this evening at our club meeting KOTRC.org this evening. Larry Renger estimates 3 kits from each sign when strategically cut so that should get him off to a good start with the ET-1 kits.

Actually it is 3 kits from 2 signs, not one.
Think S.M.A.L.L. y'all and, it's all good, CL, FF and RC!

Eric is working on pricing a short kit.  I am finalizing the plans and instructions.  We should be ready to give more details later this week.

OK, we've got a supply of political signs after the recent election. The laser is busy turning them into something useful so we've also got a price that will be good until we use up all of the signs.

The ET-1 short kit will be available for $20.00 plus shipping. All of the profit from sales will go to the Knights of the Round Circle model flying club to help offset the costs involved in running the club and holding contests.

Orders may be placed with Eric Rule at RSM Distribution by telephone (951-678-1406) or e mail: eric@rsmdistribution.com Payment can be made using credit card ,by Paypal. If you prefer check or Money Order it should be payable to KOTRC and sent to Eric at RSM Distribution, 21899 Heliotrope Ln, Wildomar, CA 92595
