Title: ET-1 flies again!
Post by: Larry Renger on May 11, 2014, 09:13:25 AM
The Knights of the Round Circle again did kid training at the Fuillerton, CA Airport day. Due to wind gusts, we could only train for a little under 2 hours, but we did get about 30 kids through the training. There was a continuous supply of kids coming in and grins going out.  Of course we hated it.  LL~

The wind gusts were brutal and there were a bunch of touch and goes that were not intended. Some failures happened that show that better maintainance is needed. Motor hold-down screws disappearing, a bearing falling out of a motor, that sort of thing after nearly 500 kids trained isn't so bad. Time to go through the four planes and check everything.

We had fun, though, and look forward to the RCX show next weekend at the Orange County Fairgrounds. Two days of training then!

Thanks!

I just ordered some replacement bearings from Boca.  Boy do they have a range of prices.  For the size I needed, they went from $5 to $69!  I got the $5 ones. I suspect they will still be better than what is in the motors now.  Anyone out there have a clue on what to look for?

Don't forget, come to the RCX show and fly the ET-1. Or, better yet, drag in some kids to do it!  #^ ~> y1 ;D 8)
