Title: Enya 09
Post by: Motorman on April 01, 2016, 08:40:44 PM
I found and old Enya 09 in a box of stuff today. I guess it's from my late father in laws stuff, he flew RC. Anyway, it has a good fit and looks like a Fox 35 hi zoot NVA will be a perfect fit.

I also have a Sig Akromaster almost finished drilled for an LA 15 and I'm wondering if the enya 09 would be enough power on 52' lines because, it would be a much better engine imho.

What is the Model number? I can supply copies of the Instruction sheet and parts sheet.

52's might be a bit long for an .09. I'd start with 45' .012's

I just bought a used Enya 09 for a jr Streak. It spins an 8x4 at a good clip. Maybe 13 thou or slightly above. I've been running jr Streaks with Fp15s. Great fun real fast. Also an ounce of tail weight needed to get the model to turn. The 09 Enya much lighter. These size planes jet around with Fp15 power. I'm curious to see how they work flying slower at a lighter weight.

I'm flying a Jr Flite Streak on 48' x .012 lines with an OS 10 Fp turning a A P C 7x5 and 7x4 props and it fly's real well, the model weighs 16 Oz also, so the 09 should work well also...

I just mounted an 09 111 on my little buster, it's mounting holes were really close to the fox 15x's so it bolted right up. I haven't had a chance to fly it yet but test running it it really made a lot more power on uniflow and the fuel draw improved as lot. It was an R/C engine and came with a really long tongue muffler which I might cut down, I am sure it was made to clear a cowl but it sticks up almost 3 inches which is way to high on a profile. I just want to see how much grunt it has, I might get a Blackhawk/ Musciano Wizard for it for a fun flyer for it to keep at work in my office on standby for a trip to the field after work on the way home when the urge hits. One thing I will say for a tiny engine it's loud ! T.J.

A while ago, I tried my Jr Streak with an 09-IV, and actually preferred it to how it flew with a .15. They don't seem to mind a bit of nitro - 15% worked just fine.
