Ran across one of these on E-Bay but got out-bid. It is really a classic! Anyone have the plans and decal sheet they could scan for me? I'd love to build one just for display.
When I was a kid I don't remember seeing many Enterprise .049-sized kits in the hobby-shops. Lots and lots of Scientific and also Sterling. But not many Enterprise, so had never seen one of these before.

Someone had one to give away on another site a couple of years ago.

Thanks for the photo. I was really curious as to what it looked like.

Calling Buck Rogers, calling Buck Rogers!!!

I believe that Paul Del Gotto was a large contributor to the Enterprise line up and I'm almost positive that that is one of his designs. Our hobby shop carried a lot of the Enterprise line along with Scientific kits. Really interesting toys in the day and I think that the Enterprise kits were in some ways superior to the Scientific. Looked at that model when I was young, the hobby shop had one but I passed and I never saw one flown anywhere. The Enterprise model that I always wanted was the Manta Fighter which was an actual design that had a mock up built but never went into production. Instead I got a Monarch Model kit which was high quality but didn't fill the space of that Manta fighter kit.
Amazing what you remember from 60 years ago but can't remember what you did 3 days ago.

Del Gatto was a prolific designer and a lot of his designs were really cool.
Like the Balooney!

But where can I find the plans for the Moon-Liner??
-
I have the kit, let me see if the plans are full size....

The fuse is hollow log type and the wing is pre shaped and the plans are not full sized. It is a strange one indeed...
-
This would be a perfect fit for S.M.A.L.L.

I hope Randy Powell doesn't see this... LL~ Steve

Scott:
I sent you a PM.

I see that the designer was really Jerry Brofman, not Palanek. I can only find about 4 or 5 old FF designs of his from the 40s. Was this his only CL design?

Yes, but it has "real spaceship performance"!
-
I have one of the old rough-cut balsa "logs" like Scientific used. If it is the correct length I might be able to build a Moon-Liner!
-
I am still looking for the plans for one of these. Can anyone do a tracing of the parts for me?
Scott

Why don't you buy the one on Ebay? Check this one out: http://www.ebay.com/itm/TWA-Moonliner-41-tall-resin-kit-/141265948614?hash=item20e41b4fc6:g:ZPQAAMXQlgtStMOj??

everyone plug their ears while I scold John for being un-helpful (and yes, he knows the difference between a Moon-liner and a Moon-liner.)

Here are a few pics from the kit I have. I scanned the decals but the instruction sheet/plan is too big for my printer/scanner.My kit has some very light wood like it was selected for the kit. Taking of from a ramp would be a new experience. I would make my ramp an inch or two longer you can`t pull it to far back before the prop starts chewing the ramp and will use a Baby bee engine with a dual port cylinder and TeeDee head. A Black widow engine will move the CG foward due to the longer tank.

Thanks Juan! Can you trace the parts for me? What are the dimensions of the fuselage block?
-
It went for $23.00! :!
-
Plus $9 for shipping. And the only reason it went for $23 is because I stopped bidding on it. Whoever won it probably had a high maximum bid on it. Every time I put in a new bid, Ebay would tell me I was still out-bid. So, why ruin his day and bid him up? I don't want to collect it, I want to build it.
-
Hello Scott
I can`t help you with the tracings, all the parts are in their sheets and if I don`t build it I want to keep it as it came from Enterprise just in case I want to sell it. If the kit on ebay that went for $25.00 it was not a bad deal I paid $35.00 plus shipping.

Just to let everyone know: Juan has been a great help - he's scanned the balsa sheets for me and even hand drew some of the parts. Plus he copied the plans. I now have to print it all out and see how to put one together.
Thanks again Juan!
