Happy 4th of July !

Happy 4th of July to all my American friends and family !

   At Brodak's I met someone who spontaneously insisted
that the United States is not the greatest country on the planet.
Of course, he did not offer an superior alternative but he
did ask me why the US had the right to make that claim.

  I left that discussion in serious thought but before I took
ten steps I knew the answer and it was just one word.

Hope.

   The United States was founded on the conviction that
a country should exist to benefit it's common citizens
not an elite class or warlords.
  In 1776 it was a revolutionary idea that a person
had the God given right to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
That no power should exploit individual citizen's rights.

  244 years later, The United States is still the only nation
founded on that idea. 

  Propaganda might say otherwise, but common people
all over the plant look to the United States of America
as the shining light of hope where people can work to
build a good life without fear.

No matter what struggles might be necessary to reach
that ideal  The United States of America still offers the
pursuit of happiness and hope .

Happy 4th to all the people's of earth.

We are headed to a fire works show to celebrate the Fourth.   Now if only our politicians would have studied history or if they did could remember it, it might be different now.   What irritates me is those individuals who came to this great country for the benefits it offers and then try to change it to what they left.

The USA sure as hell isn't perfect. We can always work to make it better because we have the freedom to peacefully change the system. If the United States is such a bad place why are so many people trying to come here?

Just got home from the Fourth of July celebration party.   My son invited us to join them  It was also to raise funds for autism.  Once the rain stopped the band started after a young lady lead us in Pledge of Allegiance.   Fire works were going off during the bands performance and after they were done the fire works really started going with all kinds of fire works.  There people there from young kids to people my age.  Even a simulated train for the kids to ride.  Also people of all races there having fun, hugging, shaking hands and having a good time.

 Googled it and came up with this Kate Smith performance on YouTube. I don't know what year it would have been recorded but great stuff, and from a wonderful time period when most people still "got it".

Had to have been recorded in the forties when America needed it the most like these days when America needs GOD on our side.   Read your BIBLE and history books and see what happens with out GOD or look at what is happening now.
