ENGINE PARTS NEEDED
« on: March 26, 2019, 04:39:19 PM »
A friend is looking for a few FOX .15 - .35 Prop washers. Anyone out there have some they would like to sell? He also has a ST-60 Lite case engine w/dual plugs that has a cracked crankcase. If anyone out there has a spare case they could part with he would like to buy it. Thanks.  Please send a PM  to me through this forum.

You need to be a little more specific.  Fox had a tendency to use different thrust washers/ prop drive on engines of the same size.  The 15's and 35's especially.  A combat thrust washer will not work on a stunt engine.   The only Fox 15's I have are all the schnurele type with the coffin cover back plate. Best bet is do a search for Fox parts on the bay. S?P

Hi Joe, your friend might try to JB weld his case with cleaning up by acetone or liquor thinner it may well hold depending on where the crack is! The trick is to create a small trench on the crack, clean the thing thoroughly and let the goop cure well! I fixed a Johnson Combat well enough to continue flhying combat back in the day used only epoxy!

I could not reply sooner because for some reason I was locked out of the Hanger. Doc, I made a typo on engine size. He needs a prop washer for Fox size .19-.35  C/L  stunt/sport eng.
The ST60 - V lite case has been repaired  in the way you described Mr.Phil, but Mr. Chase would like to get another undamaged case if he can.
      Thanks for the responses.

Doug, do you mean the washer that goes in FRONT of the prop? If so, I assume the gentleman is looking for a genuine Fox issued steel washer with "teeth" on the back. If this is what you truly are looking for, PM me and I can send you at least one.

He needs  to be  more specific about a  ST 60 case, there were over 6 different  cases, He should post a picture of his, from all sides , and make sure he takes a picture of the rear of the case with the  backplate off,  There are many depth for the backplate, and some of the case took  long or short plug in  backplates,  the cases  where machined at the backplate seat so the plate would go in  deeper  or  shallower
May also want to give the  measurement of the sleeve bore, those varied too, as well as  rod trough depth

Bill I think it's the drive washer he needs. I think the FOX .19-.35 are the same.
Randy, I'll have to get back with him about the case. I do know that the head was a double glow plug design- whether it was custom made or a ST factory head I don't know. If ST designed it, then maybe that would help identify the case?
